Collaboration for the Craft of Design : :
As the founder of elytra design, I am involved in every project with you from the kickoff meeting through completion! We offer individualized services from concept branding, custom furnishings and patterns, to full service interior design, and we are adept at multiple industry segments, which gives us a unique perspective to collaborate on the program and design alongside you and your team.
Over the 15 years I’ve spent designing and managing hospitality, multifamily, residential and commercial new builds + renovations, I have been incredibly fortunate to work for not only high quality, award-winning architecture + design firms in Colorado, but with amazing clients and projects such as Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center, Limelight Hotel, Aspen Skiing Company, Magnolia Hotel a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Doubletree by Hilton Hotels, Starwood/Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Starwood Development, Denver International Airport, Toll Brothers, A.G. Spanos, Carmel Partners, Trammell Crow Residential, and Continuum Partners.
“The essence of Hospitality is creating spaces
to gather + connect, where people can enjoy each other
and the moments being created in the space.”
Laura Butler, elytra design
This is what drives us at elytra design.
I have also learned to respect the collaborative process between Client and Designer, and the unique experience only you have with your company and your vision for your property. I enjoy learning about the expertise you already bring to the table that can be enhanced with design.
Together - we can curate beautiful interior experiences to meet your goals and exceed your expectations.
When the design process is beautifully curated for you, it means we are gathering unexpected elements, researching each functional need, and studying each layout, form, pattern and color as it connects to the whole space and your goals. We shine when we are solving design dilemmas through the intricate details of pattern, furniture and home goods design. When we celebrate our interior spaces with a carefully curated design, we can create beautiful connections for those inhabiting the space, while also connecting memory points and elements from the past into the present.
I believe that the storylines we create and our intentions for a space can bring interiors into a transportive experience, where people want to travel to see and experience a place for themselves, to be fully immersed there in the moment. . . spaces need wonder, texture, depth of history and connecting threads of memory points.
behind the name : :
The name elytra is derived from a Greek word, elytron, meaning ---a Covering --- We are creating a shelter from storms, a haven for creativity, and gathering places to nurture our souls and connect with others.
The plural form, elytra, is also the outer, protective wings of the ladybug and other beetles – covering the inner functional, beautiful wings.
--- Here’s how we pronounce it - [el – ee – truh]. A little obscure and mysterious, yes, an element of surprise that every good design needs!
